Pai Gow poker is a great game to play at the casino which incorporates poker elements.
Each player receives seven cards and is playing against the house. This is unlike many other forms of poker that is played against other players.
The object is to make 2 different hands, one containing 5 cards called the ‘highest’ hand and the other containing 2 cards call the ‘2nd highest’ hand. The highest hand must rank higher than the 2nd highest hand. For example, the best 2nd highest hard would be a pair of aces, and thus the highest hand in this example would have to be a minimum two pair.
If the player’s highest and 2nd highest hand beats that of the dealer, the player wins. If the dealer’s highest and 2nd highest hand beats that of the player, the dealer wins. In the scenario that the player wins the highest hand and the dealer wins the 2nd highest hand or vice versa, then it is a ‘push’ and no money is won or lost. That is the player’s money is returned and a new hand can be dealt.
This game is about trying to win both the highest and 2nd highest hands. It requires skill to play as it may be that the player will need to sacrifice the absolute best hand in the highest hand to order to win both hands. Remember the object is to win in both to collect the money.
